Offivelle vs Muse
Muse (Meta): a personal agent with a mascot that runs errands for you from Meta’s cloud.
Pick Muse if…
- you want everyday errands handled from your phone, and a free tier to start with;
- you want it working around the clock in the cloud with your computer off;
- you live in the US or Canada and one friendly assistant is all you need.
Pick Offivelle if…
- you’re outside the US and Canada: Offivelle works in every country, in 11 languages;
- you want a team that splits the work, not one assistant;
- you’d rather keep your work and memory on your own Mac, with no training on it by us;
- you want to choose the AI: ChatGPT, Claude or a free model on your Mac;
- you want to see every step, live in a 3D office, and replay any day.
| Question | Offivelle | Muse |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free app. Agents use your own ChatGPT plan (through Codex) or Claude plan (through Claude Code, which draws on your plan’s monthly agent credit, then extra usage), or free models on your Mac. Offivelle sells no AI credits. | Free tier, Power $20 a month or Maximum $100 a month, each with a weekly usage allowance.2 |
| Where you can get it | Every country. The app speaks 11 languages, and agents answer in yours. | United States and Canada only, for adults 18 and over.3, 4 |
| Where it runs | Your Mac (macOS 13 or later). Chat and approvals from your phone through Telegram, or the phone app on your Wi-Fi or Tailscale. Your own Linux server with Docker. Windows is coming. | Meta’s cloud (“Muse Secure VM”). Apps for iPhone, Android, iPad and Mac, on the web and in WhatsApp; Windows announced.1, 3 |
| Which AI does the work | Your choice: ChatGPT (through OpenAI’s Codex), Claude (through Anthropic’s Claude Code) or free local models through Ollama. Pick several and they back each other up. | Meta’s own model (Muse Spark). No choice of model, and no way to use a ChatGPT or Claude plan.1 |
| One agent or a team | A team: a CEO who plans the work and hires from 46 roles in 13 departments. Several people can share a company, with roles from viewer to admin. | One personal agent. A small-business mode adds connections such as Shopify, QuickBooks and Meta ads.1, 6 |
| Approvals | Emails, publishing and spending wait for your OK, on the Mac or by Telegram. “Always allow” rules for what you trust, a daily budget, and one tap pauses everyone. | Asks before sensitive actions such as sending or buying.1 |
| Your data and training | Stays on your Mac. Prompts go only to the AI you chose (nowhere, with a local model). Offivelle doesn’t train on it or show ads; anonymous usage counts only if you say yes. | Runs in Meta’s cloud. “Help improve our AI models” is on by default; you can turn it off.5 |
| Memory you can see and edit | Yes: plain Markdown notes in a folder you own (an Obsidian vault, kept with git). Read, edit, move or delete them. | Yes: Memory.md, Soul.md and Identity.md can be viewed and edited, and “Download your Muse data” exports them.5 |
| Works with your computer off | While your Mac is on, or around the clock on your own server. | Yes: it runs in Meta’s cloud.1 |
| Its face | A 3D office of people whose looks you choose; bring your own 3D characters. | Jolly, a mascot you can customize.7 |
| Open source | Yes: the code is published under AGPL-3.0 at launch. | No. |
Moving from Muse
- In Muse, download your data: Settings → Data controls → Download your Muse data.
- In Offivelle, open Settings → Bring your Muse or OpenClaw, and choose the .zip file.
- Tick what comes over: Muse’s personality for your CEO, what it knew about you, and its memory notes. Anything that looks like a key or a password is taken out, and notes about other people start unticked.
